To Lake Balaton (Optimistic Cave)

9.00 – departure from Chernivtsi to the village of Korolivka, Ternopil region.

11.00 – arrival at the place. Changing clothes. Briefing.

Beginning of a 3-hour underground hike to the longest cave in the world “Optimistichna”.

Our route is called: “Lake Balaton”.

Finding water underground is one of the greatest discoveries for speleologists, because it greatly facilitates the study of the cave. Now near Lake Balaton there is one of the largest operating underground camps, where you can visit.

Despite the fact that the water level has dropped significantly in recent years and the lake has become much shallower, it is worth seeing. First of all, the hike itself will be very interesting. On the way you will see an exhibition of clay sculptures, hear interesting stories about the discovery of the first halls of the cave, you can visit the first underground camp of speleologists and see a unique collection of secondary crystalline formations. Secondly, the underground lake is a unique and unrepeatable phenomenon. There is crystal clear water that you can drink.

You will spend up to 3 hours in the cave.

The hike is not difficult and does not require special physical training.

You can rent all the equipment for the excursion.

15.00 - end of the trip. Changing clothes. Snack from your own products.

Departure to Chernivtsi.

17.00 - arrival in Chernivtsi.
